Exhaust Flap Mod - Cap size?
Hi all,
I want to give the 'Golf Tee' mod a try, but would prefer a more secure device than a golf tee . Does anyone know the required Inner Diameter for each end (if they're different) so I can get some proper vacuum line bungs/caps instead? I've heard somewhere 3/16" but can't be sure and dunno if he meant ID/OD let alone which metric equivalent would be best.
Thanks,
Chris

Quick update for the benefit of others, the answer is 4mm !!
These are perfect, with a 4mm inner diameter.

Saves faffing with golf tees or any other mild bodges :p.

Quite a lot of chat about this mod some months back ranging from makes "some difference" to "not much". What have you found.....?

You can also just disconnect the solenoid in the boot.

Is a switch an option in this case ?

I guess with some fiddling and the right connectors but frankly it doesn’t make a vast difference so not likely worth it.
I plan to explore removal of baffling from the non quiet phase of that particular silencer so the the change is more notable and to increase the side to side warble from the dual exhaust.

Thanks for the advice
With that in mind I think I will leave the system well alone - it would be good to be able to swap with the flick of a switch but it’s not something that’s going to keep me awake at night!

It doesn't make a huge difference. Noticeable on start up and general pootling around town, not so much when hooning. It's maybe 5% louder, not a problem when cruising at all imo.

disconnecting the solenoid exposes the terminals to the elements, the hose is the best option.

No intention of leaving Terminals exposed but bridging the feed to the solenoid with an in car switch.

Pointless effort Ronk, it doesn’t make enough difference to bother. Once done I’m sure you’d be happy to leave as is.

I agree - I think it’s loud enough as standard - only the change down in sport is something special

I meant do the mod then leave as is, it’s worth doing as it’s a 30 sec job with the caps and does make it sound a little more burbly and deeper but not nearly enough to need to have it switched.

I understand
However I do think is nice to have a stealth mode - I use the term “stealth “ very loosely!
