Looks like just under $60,000 for a well equipped 35i... :?

No less that $62,000 to 65,000 for the coupe. $62,000 does not include the Tech Package or any special wheels etc.
No question in my mind I would go for the M3 before 35i...
Also, my dealer is discounting the M3's but I bet there won't be any discount on the 35i...

Wow easy decision then. You can get 10% off the 35i here already. I don't care about going topless any more, I really like the M3 and the 335i with DCT.

I'm thinking that it will not sell that well on this side of the pond when you can get an M3 for about the same price.
In Jan my dealer had an 2008 red M3 convertable sitting on the show room for $10,000 off list price.
It was tempting... :)

Man, those prices would have me running for a nice E46 M3 and tons of mods. :driving:

I must admit I am surprised that the price of a top of the line 09 Z4 is almost as much as an M3.... :o
This seems like a colossal marketing mistake by BMW...

Either that or the M3's underpriced.

Seriously, though... BMW has priced it accordingly when you compare it to the MB SLK. A fully loaded SLK 350 is in the same neighbourhood, and the C63 AMG would also seem like a better buy.

If and when BMW releases the M version, I'm confident the pricing will be similar to the SLK 55 AMG.

Rick Hunter, I am sure that is their thinking but will the cars sell at those prices?
Time will tell... :?

At one point I priced out an 2009 M3 and the selling price to me would have been just under $59,000 as I recall.
This is the configuration that I priced out. It does not contain the tech package or the double clutch which add over $5,000.

Base MSRP $57,850
Interlagos Blue Metallic $550
Black Novillo Leather $0
Carbon Leather interior trim $0
Premium Package $2,000
Heated front seats $500
Moonroof $0
Power rear sunshade $350
Smartphone Integration $150
iPod and USB adapter $400
Anti-theft alarm system $400
Destination & Handling: $825

Total MSRP as Built $63,025

Just configured one close to my coupe--3.0, etc, no M seats, just over ***$54,000***!!!!!!!!!

All I can say is good luck and bring on the Z2.

Looks like I could buy a Nissan 370Z and get a BMW K1300S with the change.
