When I change my oil, I go for a good 10 mile drive to get the engine nice and hot and drain the oil as soon as I get back. I let it drain for about 30 mins while I tart around with the filter and generally tart about. I then allow the jack down at different angles to get even more oil out. There is no way that will happen in a garage/dealers.

Most reputable garages know how to drain oil properly pal.

Still can't access my Huzee666 account if one of the moderators sees this post and can help !
I got a 3yr service pack for my 2014 35is for £799 when it had its first MOT. Covers the next 3 MOT's, the next three services and the next three brake fluid changes. Just bought my 19yr old a 2018 218i SE Sport and a service pack for that was £399 which covers the same apart from two of the MOT's. Makes my 35is service pack look cheap?

I think they charge labour in units, if I remember correctly, each unit is 5 minutes, so the first one is 10 minutes for the standard scope (is that where they plug it into the computer to check for error codes etc?).

So the second £21.67 is 10 minutes to change the microfilter, and £37.26 for the actual filter.

At that rate, it equals £130 an hour labour.

However, the oil filter service bit doesn't add up. It looks like they've charged 15 minutes labour, but is that feasible? Then they've charged 5 units for oil....but the 12.5 for waste disposal is actually £12.50.

Add it up according to the breakdown on the left shows parts cost £50.81....which suggests oil .....

oh fcuk it, I'm lost :dizzy:

That being said, whats the point of an itemised bill if you still can't see where the money's gone.

....I guess its in their interest to make it this confusing, to hide where the money is going.

Take it back and ask for an explanation in english!

mine has come with that till 2021 or 50,000 miles - does it include parts and labour does it include MOT's too ?

The service pack on my car covered part & labour, it also had an add on called mot protect (or similar) which didn’t cover the cost of the test itself but covered against major components being faulty, it excludes normal wear & tear items like brakes and tyres
