Z4 Now on MPS4's NON-Runflats....wow!
Switched out my terrible run flats yesterday finally. Now my 326's are sitting comfortably on MPS4's.....wow what a difference!!
On run flats, looking back, I experienced stiff steering, steering wheel wobble (no matter how perfect my tracking/balancing was), x2 cracked alloys, a super harsh ride and unbelievable road noise. The car felt heavy, floaty and generally just unsure of itself. TBH it was quite tiring to drive at times.
My ZED now tracks perfect, shudder is gone, steering is more precise and lighter, it absorbs bumps and road noise is reduced considerably. Its confident round corners, grips like nothing on earth and doesnt feel like I'm driving around in an unstable piece of glass.
It is like day and night, like a new car. I know i'm preaching to the converted but I am another happy non-runflat Z4 Owner.
If you haven't switched out those horrid run-flats...do it now! MPS4's FTW....BMW only supply M cars with MPS4's (non-runflat)...what does that tell you.

Glad you like it. I think it's got to the point where British roads are that bad the moment I'm not sure how BMW can carry on offering runflats at all. The claims they must be getting for wheels must be phenomenonal and their own M division refuses to use them.

If the wheel is more than 1mm out of true in any direction BMW are not interested and you have to pay for that test yourself.
When I questioned the service guy about the realistic chances of a used wheel being ONLY 1mm out of true, especially when it’s cracked he said “1mm is the tolerance at the factory when new” I said “so the wheel has to be as new?” The reply “yes”.
At that I gave up and put the money they wanted for the test towards a new wheel.

Its definitely next on my list, I have a cracked wheel (probably inherited as I bought the car used)
the ride on runflats feels like being dragged across a washboard.
im also in the market for some new alloys... havent decided to replace/repair the 326m or just go after market.
How much did the set of MPS4's set you back?

I know it's pedantic but the M cars come with PSS still I think. The PSS was replaced by the Pilot Sport 4S as Michelin's new high performance tyre.
The naming convention is really confusing but the Pilot Sport 4 is the more everyday tyre and the 4S is the UHP tyre.

I'm so happy to read this post. I HATE the run flat bridgestones on my car due to the exact same issues and was planning to replace them with MPS4 asap in hopes of resolving them. This is just a confirmation that it'll be the right decision

I shall be replacing my runflats next month when I get the car back on the road, I'm going for Goodyear Asymmetric 3s, quite a bit cheaper than the Michelin's and still an excellent tyre,and in the 235.35x19 255.35x19 sizes. Best quote bought and fitted locally £626, not too bad and about £200 pounds cheaper than the Michelin's.

A good alternative for the price no doubt. However I've had them on another BMW and found the sidewalls soft and the rim protection not as good as the Bridgestones they replaced. Soft sidewalls would be good for me, I'm looking mainly for more comfort as I'm not a fast driver, so the ultimate in handling capabilities doesn't concern me.

I have these on mine, excellent tyre, amazing grip, ride is significantly improved over the RFT's they replaced. Highly recommended. E89/28i Msport gone .. Zx10r track bike gone… time for a KTM 350 exc-f and some green laning and dirt bike excursions…. Let’s see how this goes… :

The only thing that let them down are the rolling resistance (fuel economy) but what the hell . Purchased online from Camskill in February this year the 225/35/19 fronts and 255/35/19 rears came in at £462.20 delivered to the door in 2 days.
