Opinion on Wheels
I am looking for your opinion on which type of wheels I should buy for my black 2009 sdrive 35i. I was thinking about going with all black but I do like a little machined on the black.

If you're going to go that way then pic 2 does it for me. I think polished rim edges are starting to look a bit dated now.
But if you'd asked me 15 years ago it would have been polished edges all the way.
Just my view. In the end you have to go with what YOU like. Everything else is a distraction.

I’m not a fan of black on black. Options 2 or 3 look best though. Option 1 just looks shite IMO.

Second pic looks the business - I love that look although, at the risk of stating the obvious, you are looking at an E85 there not an E89

Not a fan of black wheels tbh, but it's a personal choice so do whatever you like.
Keep the silver oem ones for when you sell, because whatever wheels you choose there'll be someone out there that dislikes them

Personally I think cars completely colour coordinated, all black is a good example lose all of their visual interest. There is no contrast to engage the eye and also in flat black and flat white cars the contours of the beautiful bodywork are almost invisible.
You need something NOT black to make the car visually interesting and stand out.
Remember these are my and other peoples opinions, its what you like that counts......

Thanks guys! I was totally sold on the blacked out look but right before I was going to make the plunge I started having second thoughts! I agree I do think the car needs some contrast. I think part of it was I wanted to make the car my own but maybe I will put money into a different mod. It's still winter here, I just want to get the car on the road!! Thanks again.

I'm not a fan of black on black either, but if I was going down that route I'd definitely avoid Option 1 - they look terrible!
Coupes because stunning!

the 2nd pic wheels are much nicer, but like some others here, Black on black is not a combination I would choose. the style of the wheels is pretty much down to opinion, if it feels right, then it feels right. but personally I dont like the wheels with the polished trim at all.
They make the car look a bit tardy and cheap.

Out of the bunch pic two is my favourite.
That said I’m not a huge fan of black wheels usually as you lose all the detail.

For similar reasons I try to remember to have my headlamps on whatever the light. In your case he/she was probably rushing to see that wooden interior! But this happened to me a long time ago (child running out, not wooden interior) and I do know that it's not funny.

20 or so years ago on a grey winter's day I was driving at 15-20 mph in rush-hour traffic in a black Golf GTi, and a young lad (12 or 13 I'd guess) rode his bicycle into the side of it. I jumped out to see if he was OK, but he was already riding away - so I assumed he was OK, thankfully!RickRob wrote: ↑Tue Mar 06, 2018 1:57 pm For similar reasons I try to remember to have my headlamps on whatever the light. Then 15 years ago I bought a Seat Leon in Black Magic (metallic basically) and I thought nobody could see it because they kept pulling out of side roads in front of me, so I used the lights all the time. But when I replaced it with a Mystic Blue BMW I realised it was a new trend. It seems most drivers think side roads have priority - well when they are on them anyway!
Apologies for getting a bit off-topic OP.

This looks bloody fantastic !!!!! Like something Darth Vader would just nip down the shops in !
Mr Wilks had these on a grey E89 and I thought they looked superb. For me the best looking OEM/copy alloy on the E89. Sterling Grey '03 2.5i SE / Infinitas Supercharger / S.M.G / Hardtop / Gloss Black 162s / Bilstein B4s / 3.0i Brakes / DLV De-Cat & Silencer / Rebuilt VANOS / Sonar 2Xcite Lights / Carbon & Alcantara Trim / M-Sport Seats / ...& Side Covers !
