R60BBA fantastic! I love this mix of black with the machined face. Very nice! I agree with the others that the blacked out look needs some contrast. Where did they purchase these wheels? I checked out the link but I'm not to good with German (I think) ?

No worries bud.

I think his are OEM, but he had to run a lower profile tyre than what is used for the M2 and M4.

Looking forward to seeing pics once you’ve made A decision

I think I am going to pull the trigger on VMR V710's Hyper Silver. But having a hard time finding them in Canada. I just have to convince the accountant (wife)!!

Very nice. Seeing as you’re based in Canada and you can’t find a vendor, you might aswell order directly from VMR who are based in Anaheim, California.

I think you should reconsider VMR. I had a set of VMR V710 a couple of years ago and they lasted 6 months. All 4 ended up misshapen, one wheel was bad enough to cause vibration at higher speeds and required refurbishing. The lacquer also peeled on two of them. VMR were not interested in sorting the issue.

I did a little searching and found a few other similar stories. The problem is that forums like E90post censor any negative feedback because they are a site supporter.

You should look for another brand of CSL rep, something like Niche Essen wheels.

You mentioned the lacquer peeled off, but did you seal your wheels in either a ceramic or polyurethane coating?

I used some Nanolex alloy sealant on them. The paint also started to bubble around the centre caps on 2 wheels.

The reason I got non-OEM wheels was because BMW ones crack so easily. Next time it'll be BBS or HRE wheels I think.

That’s a shame as I have heard good thing about VMR.

BMW wheels do crack but then again so can all alloy wheels. To say BMW wheels crack easily is a bit of a stretch IMO, as this largely depends on a number of factors (quality of roads, tyre profile size, how the car is driven etc).

It’s also worth noting that BBS actually manufacture a number of BMW branded wheels (take CSLs for example).

Good luck with your wheel search

That's disappointing R60!! I will look over my wheels when they arrive and keep a close eye on them over the next few months. Thanks for the information.
