Orion metallic silver - marmite colour ?

Been looking for a red E89 ( preferably 30i ) since selling my old sterling silver E85 3.0SE last year - there is a red one advertised on AT but with 72k miles not my ideal mileage - going to have a look at a 2010 30i in orion metallic grey - manual - 1 owner - 36k miles - cream leather - non M - car no longer advertised so can't show a link but here is a library pic of what it looks like ( apart from the fact that this is a 35i ).

Wouldn't normally go for another silver zed but this in my view does look striking but wondering whether it's a bit of a marmite colour - not that it matters I suppose if I like it - the car is not an M Sport but has been clearly looked after by it's one owner and has a full BMW SH

I personally think it could look amazing with a few personal touches however, I own a white car so I guess I have no ability to critique any other colour

Well they can add fancy names to it & even slip silver into the description ( bit like Phoenix yellow really isn't is it ? It's pure mustard :D ) reality is it's a met beige & sadly does very little for the car imo.
As Steve points out you can personalise quite easily by adding black but then that's like putting lipstick on a pig :|

It wouldn't be my choice of colour but I don't totally hate it either, may be an issue come resale time though with it being a marmite colour.

Tbf there are worse Bmw colours .
It was initially a launch car colour but soon dropped & doubt many were sold . Not saying that means much .
If Op isn't WoWed from the off then I'd stick to the plan of finding a red one . A Se "Orion beige" even with low miles is always going to be hard sell so unless its currently a giveaway I'd avoid & let someone else get lumbered with it

Orion metallic silver - marmite colour ?

I have Orion Silver had the car six years now.
The colour changes depending on sunlight and temperature. Sometimes it appears Gold and sometimes looks Silver. Not seen many about, seen two, so does make a bit more special. I see a lot of blue, white and black, but they seem to disappear on car parks. I think it shows off the curves more. My second alternate colour would be a dark red, think it's Melbourne red.
Had nothing but compliments on the colour from peps passing by.
All personal choice, even yellow looks good on this car.

Added benefit, OS never looks dirty.

Not a fan of any silver/grey car colours.

That said, Mrs R and I have only had black cars for the last 22 years, which you may regard as unimaginative! :P
///M Roadster. 2007 Black/Black. Rear spoiler, whippy aerial, mud flaps and gimp-style wind deflector! :)
