E89 on a narrow street - ground clearance

Post by martyhimself » Fri Feb 23, 2018 11:12 am

Hi,

First post :). I’m looking into getting a used E89 and live on a city street which is quite narrow, and cars park up the curb. I’m just slightly worried the E89 won’t have enough ground clearance to park two wheels up the curb, or am I just being paranoid?

Unless its either been ridiculously lowered or your street has unusually high kerbs you should be fine, mines been dropped on Eibachs and I have to park 2 wheels on a kerb at my parents house, never had an issue ....

And mine on 19" wheels clears speed bumps that I occasionally scraped in my E85.

biggest challenge will be getting it up the curb if you don't have curb drops, especially if you have 19" alloys.
depending on how high the curbs are of course

I park mine on a kerb every night. I am able to use drop kerbs to drive on & off though. Wouldn't fancy trying to get the 19" wheels up a kerb otherwise.
