I want to put some gummi pflege on the roof seals etc on my new to me e89. Can I stop the roof opening procedure half way through so I can access the seals? Do I just take finger off button at a convenient point? Cheers

Yes if you let go of the button the roof should stop
That's how I did mine, I also used Gummi pledge and sprayed white grease on the pivots

Unless you have a smartop fitted, in which case it will carry on, be careful!

With the smartop fitted the dash buttons become one touch operation & the remote works the roof with a 3 second press.
Also let’s you raise & lower roof on the wing, Windows can be lowered with the remote as well

You can configure smart top to work as one touch or factory operation. It has several features.

Best solution for rubber seal noise was glass paper and not gummi which washes away after a short while. Taking the shine off the rubber solved all my noise.
