Interior trims - Pics please!
Hi all,
I’m hoping to have my interior trims wrapped in the coming weeks but I’m struggling to decide what to do as I’ve not really seen any others done.
My initial choice was Gloss Black - but is Themis a bit boring?
Satin black would possibly be a good OEM look but again, even more boring.
Carbon Fibre Wrap? I know they’re starting to look good but it’s still fake Carbon!?
All out with an alcantara retrim? No idea yet on the cost of this so it may be out of the equation but it would look good with my new steering wheel I’m sure!
This is my interior at the moment. Keen to hear others thoughts

I’d really like to see it without the wood effect. I think it suits the colour of the leather but I’ve never been 100% sold on the wood.
Thank you for your views though!

The trouble with replacing the wood is that it makes the surfaces look flat and shallow. I'm no great fan of veneer with a PU coat, which I've had on quite expensive cars, but it does add depth and I can understand why designers include it.
The common alternatives aren't brilliant, either. Fake carbon fibre looks like fake carbon fibre and, even if it's real, it begs the question, 'Who needs a lightweight centre console and door trim?' Engine-turned aluminium ain't bad, but it's got to be OE quality to be good.
So, I'm with the majority so far: stick with the wood.

As others have said, I really like the current interior look of the cabin.

I've seen a dark grey/black version of the Carbon Aluminium trim which I think would be a good replacement for the wood effect trim.

You have just hit the nail on the head here which I’ve just figured out in my head.Busterboo wrote: ↑Tue Feb 13, 2018 12:37 amThe trouble with replacing the wood is that it makes the surfaces look flat and shallow. That’s why I’ve put off going for gloss black.
Piano black looks great in some Audi’s though??
I agree re fake carbon.
So what about black alcantara then?

Not at all. 'Carbon effect' is fake. The 'wood' in this case, although not to your taste, isn't.

I had mine carbon fibre skinned as I wanted it to look OEM, and I was very happy with how it turned out.

Oh wow! Not normally a huge fan of carbon but that looks lovely! Can I ask how much that set you back?
