Re: E89 in black
The more I look at the new Z4, the more intention I'm going to order one tomorrow. But even a sDrive23i with options I want will be over £33k. I think I have to wait 2 years for second-hand.
Current BMW: 640d Gran Coupe M Sport (F06), 118d SE (F20).
Previous BMW: Z4 sDrive23i M Sport (E89), 318i Sport (F30), 120d SE (F20), Z4 2.5i Sport Roadster (E85), 523i Sport (E60), 323Ci (E46), 523i SE (E39), 318i (E36).

Re: E89 in black
ksher, there will be used bargains after 6 months, I'm sure
tsuiesque, it is a porker. Still love the look of it, and I suppose even the 135 is almost the same weight as a 335. At least it's still a few hundred less than an E93.

Re: E89 in black
Does look a lot better in black rather than that weird beige colour.
It does look a little like an SLK though and i'm not a fan of those.

I quite like the SLK, two people just bought brand new ones at work, the AMG bodykitted one looks nice though

Re: E89 in black
Hehe, 350 eh, at least it's got a decent sized engine! (ones at work are a 180K and 320 which imho are a bit limp for an auto Merc)
Very fond of an SLK AMG one day, if they ever get down in value enough to my kinda level. V8 in that kinda car with the roof down, it just has to be done
Well below market value eh pvr, sounds good... but I think next year (after this years wedding is all paid for), a TS2 kit from ESS will be more likely than a new car

Re: E89 in black
Bit of a joke Dave - Mike and I sold our previous Z at about the same time, and my (older) Z fetched a lot more money then his and I have been rubbing that in at any given opportunity

Hehe... I often let stuff go a bit cheaper just to get rid, and onto the next car asappvr wrote:Bit of a joke Dave - Mike and I sold our previous Z at about the same time, and my (older) Z fetched a lot more money then his and I have been rubbing that in at any given opportunity
Maybe Mike did it for that reason
But back on topic, if I wanted an SLK type car, I'd buy the SLK, because I think Merc make that kinda car better... their car has defined the genre really. BMW should have stuck to what they did best, a sports car... I bet lots of Z4 owners would move to a Boxster or 370Z now, so what sales they might take from Merc, they will lose (despite pretending this new one is still a sports car to the same levels the old one was) to Porsche and Nissan.

Re: E89 in black
Couldn't sell if for any more, it definitely wasn't intentional
Difference between a nice one owner car with low miles and a 3 owner car with 25k on it (was just over 2 years old at the time. Private buyers want perfection otherwise they don't care.
Back to the SLK, yes I think you may be right Mr Whippy, but I really like the new Z4, it's a BMW SLK. Wonder how it drives. I could definitely see myself in one if it depreciates at the right rate.

Re: E89 in black
Black is the best colour I've seen so far the blue looks OK and I think white might suit the 'cruiser' image of the car. It's very nice, sort of a baby 6 series really but better sorted at the rear.
Can't see me with one at present as the 35i would cost 48k with a decent spec.

Yas Marina Blue 35i.
