If you haven't tried DCT, don't think it's just an Auto. It isn't. Try one for a day and see.

Just to re-iterate that my 10th Z4 was a manual box that required 100% intervention from the driver in order to change gears  i didn't fancy the alternative box that did it all itself as & when it desired as then it wouldn't be controlled manually would it  just sayin

The ability isn't being questioned, it's what they are classed as (autos)

Class them how you like, you cant stop technology making stuff better, whatever the applcation
Why you being so defensive. It's a fact that's stated by the dvla not an opinion jesus.
Not defensive in the slightest..

You or anyone can drive whatever you want, doesnt bother me.

What didnt you like about the double clutch cars you have owned ?

Can you quote where I've said I don't like anything about then please? My original post was in response to busterboo who said that they aren't an automatic where as in the eyes of the British law (I. E. The dvla) they are classed as an automatic, what is there to argue about that?

I do! I really do!

If I had the choice of a new 135i with the 8 speed zf box or manual it would be the auto every time! I've driven both and the auto runs rings round the manual!

No no no....

The manual is much more engaging...The movement of your left leg, jostling the testes as you press the clutch pedal to change gear is the epitome of manliness.
You cant have full control unless you have a manual shift car,its impossible... Thats a fact... I have heard it said.

Joking aside I find the majority of f series manual boxes incredibly notcy. The one in the works pool car 320d is very tall also, not for me
