Hey, I am 6 months into my ownership of my E89 Sdrive20i M Sport and I'm completely in love.

However, if I wanted to change ANYTHING I think some naughty yellow brake calipers could be subtle enough... It's got tan interior so I feel anything like red or orange would clash too much.

What does everyone think:

The standard brakes on a 20i are tiny, painting them yellow just draws attention to that even more.

Firstly, welcome to the forum and well done for including a pic.

I'd say, yeah, go for it. Hell, you can always change it if you don't like it.
Wifey's E85 has yellow ones on a Sterling Grey car and they look pretty good.
Mind, yours will be a lot more visible with those wheels.

Or, you could be radical and say that it emphasises the quality of BMW engineering that it stops the car with such small, and therefore light, calipers. :poke: :D

Yes I did that..I painted them yellow, they looked terrible and I wished I hadn't done it..fortunately my wheels hid most of the brakes most of the time, with a326M type wheel it would have been horrendous..

Hi and welcome to the forum.

Bonus points for a photo in your first post too!

If you want your calipers in a colour yellow would look good, or maybe blue?

Having looked at Zed Baron's link I'd go for that "in yer face" green on your car OP - lovely!

I fitted a BBK front brake kit and they are close in colour to Phoenix Yellow. I tried to match the standard rear calipers by painting them in a mixture 60% hammerite gold and 40% yellow. The rear calipers still look in good order.

You can just get the calipers done in Phoenix yellow metallic, standard bmw colour and doesn’t show the dirt anywhere as much as bright yellow...

Do you really need approval to do something that makes you smile?

Do it, if you don’t like it when you’ve done it, un do it :)
