Hi all,
newbie alert!
i currently have a Z4 35i which i would like to get a stage 2 remap for! after having a google search i've noticed most companies only offer stage 1...
is a stage 2 actually available/has anyone here got one?
can anyone give me any advice on where and what are the best parts i'd need?

As above you will need some physical mods to run a stage II map without problems.
Also bear in mind and modification from stock will require insurance disclosure of your insurance will be invalidated in an accident. They’ll look for any way not to pay out.

Its quite well documented that downpipe catless wont cause an MOT failure.
Here are my results on a 2010 car with 88k miles. Downpipes are catless. It has the original secondary cats.
Figures are well below the fail mark.

De-catting gives off the constant smell of fuel...which is even more amplified in a 2 seater convertible.
I would get the car mapped to enhance real world drive ability but wouldn’t bother with a de-cat unless the car was being used for track purposes.
Having said that it’s totally up to you

I'd agree that de-catting does cause a fuel smell, but only if you completely de-cat. The 35i has four cats, two primary cats in the downpipes, and two in the centre section (full duel exhaust).R60BBA wrote: ↑Mon Jun 25, 2018 4:30 pm De-catting gives off the constant smell of fuel...which is even more amplified in a 2 seater convertible.

Removing the front two hasn't caused the exhaust to smell any different as far as I can tell. Its doesnt affect the MOT, and makes the car sound quite a bit more 'throaty', without the drone thats all to common from a full custom exhaust.
There really isn't any downside other than the pain in the a$$ job of fitting them.
As far as upgrade advice, I would recommend
(In order of power gain)
1. MHD
2. FMIC (Front Mount Intercooler).
3. Decat
MHD is purchased in two parts, the app itself is about £100, then £45 for each map.
Obviously it would make better financial sense to upgrade the FMIC and Decat before MHD, as you would only need to buy the app and Stage 2+ map.
Once you purchase a map, you can flash any fuel version, and you have access to any updates. V7.1 is out at the moment, and V8.0 is in beta.
The map options make take MHD from a good to great tool in my opinion. The exhaust burble is especially good fun - In the latest version you can even choose the burble aggressiveness and to only have it activated in sport mode.

Yep, I'm running S2+ with decat and fmic. No issues here.

The fuel system is fine until you need to go above 600whp.
The definition of stage levels is just a general consensus on the platform, not really a defined set of upgrades and has no bearing on how other platforms define stages. Most people class stage 1 as purely a software then stage 2 as simple bolt-on modifications (Intercooler and Catless downpipes).
You don't really have top spend much until you start looking at turbo upgrades.
