Currently we have one family car, I'm the main insured driver with the wife as a secondary driver. She uses it a couple of times a week, and I tend to do the weekend driving etc. So I have NCB of X years (not sure what off the top of my head, but no convictions or accidents, although someone did manage to reverse into the side of our car while it was parked on our driveway!), but my understanding is that I can't have a second car and use this NCB. If I move the smax to her name we are back to 0 NCB on the smax as we have only had one car between us for the last 8 years odd - Any advice? otherwise current quotes for me are in excess of £750

what about multi car insurance, not a 100% how it works but maybe worth ringing and putting both cars on your policy and keep her as named driver

My insurers, LV Frizzell gave me same NCB on my second car as on my first car when I bought it. Think other insurers do likewise

You can insure the zed with classic line who don't use NCD. Certainly worth a phone call.
