Insuring Z,s as 2nd cars with no NCB

save yourself some time on the phone or web guys .
if like me your Z is a weekender/ 3rd car so all NCB is attached to other vehicles it would seem from today that only Classicline & Adrian Flux can offer insurance that would not involve selling off your favourite Breitling
some who shall remain nameless on here dare'n't even tell me their proposed figure whilst 2 other,s i tried were both over £2000 ! AYFS ?
anyhow it's now a 2 horse race between the above with fully comp/5k yr/2 drivers (44) /euro cover/garaged at home/no business use
circling around the £500 mark .

NCB can only be used on 1 vehicle .
i have full 9yrs+ which is attached to my commercial vehicle .
mrs w has full NCB 9yrs+ attached to her golf .
so the 3rd car Z4 is in no man's land really ? its not a classic car but it isn,t a daily driver anyhow the upshot is £500 is manageable whereas anything over £750/£1000 & it would have had to go in the classifieds not another one !!!!!

it really is unpredictable just how each company see's & deal's with different situation's . just CBA ringing round every single one .
let's be fair , , they would all steal soup from the salvation army given half a chance

haha my friend , cause wherever you take out the policy they have ownership of the NCB which has to be given to the next company should you move elsewhere .

Thats a bit like saying that you have paid road tax and insurance on one car and just swapping the number plates over every time you use it

...good shout, will have to give "Classicline & Adrian Flux" a call.
I'm currently on Admiral multicar, but an application mistake meant that they logged my application with full 7yrs NCB on both cars, which they upheld. I'm still paying about £900 for two cars (z is on limited mileage) but I'm city centre based... still always looking for a better deal, cheers

The problem is, if you have both drivers named on the policies for both cars, then you add another car - even if only mr wilks is insured on the Z one of the other cars could be being driven at the same time, so you cannot share the no-claims. If you are the only driver on all the cars then that seems to be fine, as only one would be being driven at the time. Or at least that's the way it was explained to me...

Why not use the ncb for the zed and insure the van without the discount. Sureiy that would be cheaper?

Swiftsure also allow NCD to be used on more than one vehicle. They're also cheap but come with a good reputation.

I've just insured with admiral multicar, they mirrored my ncb from my daily driver. It cost me £260 limited to 5k miles/year.
