Dissapointed
Quite a few people on here have good things to say about them so I tried calling Chris Knott between 10 & 12 times today (over the space of 5 hours), looking for a new quote. Unfortunately "No operators are available" is the message I get each time. Anyone else had this?

yup.
Gave up and went to PostOffice, and got through straight away and got the best quote by far.

Good to identify an issue but take it up with the firm themselves Tim@ChrisKnott is a Forum member - pm the guy. If he knows about the problem then maybe something will get done.

They were also 400£ more for me. Seem to be on alot of forum. Fair enough it's a wide target audience, but the reviews i've seen have been consistent. V expensive.

Thanks for pointing this out to me. I've contacted the manager of the department for his views.
I realise Mondays are manic for the team but I've not heard of this problem being so large scale as 10/12 rings so sorry about that. I would always ask that if this occurs, please pm me ASAP.
I would also point out that contrary to some opinions, there is a very good take up rate on this forum compared with some of the others we're linked to and i'd only mentioned this fact to Jim about a month ago.
Naturally you are going to hear more negative comments than positive on a forum but it really is doing well!

Just got an answer back and his only comment about yesterday was 'manic'. Good for business but didn't help you. Sorry.

Thanks for your comments. I have been trying again today, and unfortunately once again I am unable to get through - my latest attempt was at 14:53.
If I can't through today I will probably be giving it a miss - I need my insurance & if I'm honest I don't think I should be chasing the one company for a quote.
For me, Chris Knott had loads of positive feedback on this forum - which was the influencial factor in me calling. It's just a shame that I can't get through to anyone. Once again, thanks for you feedback.

i also tried a while back and although i live in M/SK1-12 postcodes they wouldnt insure me. rather go elsewhere were i can still get a good price. thanks Swiftcover!
