I have done this. And i had all the leaks sorted upto the intake. I then made a blanking plate for that and tested it! It was all ok!!
Maybe its the turbo? But i did change some bits. a 90degree bend for a hard bend. I am hopping those new joints are the issue. I have new connectors and clamps and will be fitting them tonight. I am waiting to hear back from Compressor racing about wither a rebuild kit or sending them my turbo core. Once thats done it should be about done.

I have a friend of a friend of a friend!! Who has a really cool bit of kit i am hopping to borrow. It connects to the charge system then presurises it but with smoky air! So you can see and hear the leeks. I am hopping to talk him in to letting me use it!!
My little blue zed is in lots of bits. With lots of things started and not many finished! I may have found the limits of my time and ability!!

I was about to say a smoke test sounds the way forwards. Fingers crossed it gets sorted quickly :)

Is this loss of boost a constant thing? Just thinking at start up the air has a long way to travel, way more than intended. Just thinking once the whole system is up to temperature the loss may drop off a but.

Have to admire your dedication to this. I'm on the verge of burning mine and doing a naked voodoo dance around it.

No mate its 100% not that. Pree intercooler pipe lengths are much less important than the internet says!!

In other news my mega cheap fiberglas over fenders turned up today.
Bloody impressed considering how cheap they where.

No not yet. But I also haven’t had time to look. Work and family have been taking up all of my time.
But I hope to have a play this weekend. I am ditching the stand alone oil system. As I can’t get that to work right. Hopefully re building my turbo. And then hunting this leak!

To help me understand, how do you know that you have a boost leak? It sounds like you've been thorough if you've pressure tested everything from the compressor outlet up to the cylinder head.

I wouldn't be surprised if it was the (lack of) o-ring or the snap ring for the compressor housing

Well the turbo is spinning up very nicely. But its not making boost. So i must have a leek. There have also been a few changes since i last checked it.

Yep agreed. I have a full rebuild kit for the turbo. So i will be stripping and cleaning everything. Rebuilding it with new seals. I might even have to change the bearings. But that depends on how they look. I am a little concerned as the oil system hasn’t been working right.
