So lots of bits for the car in the house. Been the dog approves. I just hope I can get to the workshop Saturday and my poorly sick wife is better.
My little blue zed is in lots of bits. With lots of things started and not many finished! I may have found the limits of my time and ability!!

So steering wheel and gators are self exsplanatory. The big blue thing is a oil cooler. With custom brackets. The silver thing with the black fittings is a home made filter cap that has a feed and return for the cooler. The hose connects it up I think I have the fittings to connect it all up.

Hopefully a happy monkey day Saturday

Hi monkey, your new filter cap looks round without any flutes, so I was wondering how you will tighten it? :?

I machined a 22mn hex on the top that’s the biggest monkey wrench I own.

How are you going to make the rest of the oil cap? (the central feed/return pipe that also functions as a plug to the sumpdrain)
Z4 3.0i | ESS TS2+ | Quaife ATB LSD | Brembo/BMW performance BBK front/rear | Schrick FI cams | Schmiedmann headers+cats | fully polybushed | Vibra-technics engine mounts | H&R anti rollbars | KW V3 coilovers | Sachs Race Engineering clutch

I am using the BMW center bit it disconnects from the cap. And I will make it a press fit in the aluminium. Job done.

We will see. Should be quick aiming for 400 Bhp right now. The turbo is good for 550-600 so I guess that’s the end goal. I am interested to see what it weighs and how it balances out. I thinking it should still be less than the standard 3.0l Z4 and most of the weight I have added is rear left. So hopefully making it closer to 50-50 weight distribution. And offsetting me driver weight.

I have a pass for a few hours Saturday. If it’s a good day a video update should be coming soon.

I have ditched the heavy electric seat bases and the stupid heavy standard exhaust. I honestly think my turbo waste gate oil system and new exhaust weight the same as the standard exhaust wish I had weighed it all.

Plus my new tinny battery is about half the weight I can actually see my car weighing 50kg less than a standard z4. And that’s just from ditching the electric seats. Them things are bonkers heavy!!
