I have ditched the heavy electric seat bases and the stupid heavy standard exhaust. I honestly think my turbo waste gate oil system and new exhaust weight the same as the standard exhaust wish I had weighed it all.

Plus my new tinny battery is about half the weight I can actually see my car weighing 50kg less than a standard z4. And that’s just from ditching the electric seats. Them things are bonkers heavy!!
Tell me about it - I remember taking delivery of mine and lifting one out of the car was a back breaking nightmare!
Impressive weight reduction in your Zed

and really quite pointless too.....once you have adjusted your seat to your preference thats it, you don't need to use them again. I like Colin Chapmans design philosphy "Subtracting weight makes you faster everywhere."

Difference between the electric and manual seat is 5kg I believe. (per seat, so 10kg total reduction)

If you add power you only go faster in a straight line, if you add lightness you go faster everywhere!
You can see the minimalist design in the Elise just with the seats removed, there’s just not much of it :driving:

The difference is afaik 4 electric motor drives. A 1,25kg electric motor drive is quite beefy I think.

So had a great few hours working on the car had it running and the oil system is finally done. The turbo spooling issue is sorted. It’s done it’s alive and almost working as it should.

The negative! I have a massive boost leak just after the turbo. Easy fix the turbo is also still full of oil from previous problems. So I need to strip it clean it reassemble it. Then fit the interior send it for ecu and mapping then dine.
