Bike rack. €90 Saris bones2 or £650 for a Sam Bird?!?!
I was tempted to get hold of a solo as I usually go biking alone and take just the one bike.london001 wrote: ↑Fri May 18, 2018 1:22 pm Hi lads,
Sorry for digging up an old topic! Need to do this as well, was looking at getting a Saris Solo ( Like thisone: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Saris-102-MOCS ... 00DNL4C16/).
Anyone tried using a solo? Only have the one bike so if I could avoid spending 120 quid + for a Saris 2 or 3 that would be ideal.
Thanks!
However, the reason i went for the bones 3 was predominantly because a range of adjustability due to being able to place the 4 mounting spars around a central axis pipe. If you refer back to my pics above you should be able to make out how they adjust.
The lower mounting spars also provide a means of anchoring your bike and subsequently a buffer between bike and the cars' body so that under sharp braking the bike wont swing into the boot.
Well worth the nvestment over the saris solo imo....

Nice one thanks, yeah considering the saris 3. There are a ton of cheaper options for z4's listed on ebay, but have very little faith this is going to workChris_D wrote: ↑Mon May 21, 2018 12:41 pmI was tempted to get hold of a solo as I usually go biking alone and take just the one bike.london001 wrote: ↑Fri May 18, 2018 1:22 pm Hi lads,

Have you tried to fit the frame in the boot with the wheels out
I made a bike carrier for a Smart car this bolted to the TWO tow eyes and with the wheels out it fitted nicely behind the car, but after hours of work I made it from alloy I tried to see if it would go inside and it did one frame two wheels warm up rollers and a soft kit bag in the boot of a smart car and two people in the front.
Will try and post photos latter going racing (Velodrome racing) so it will be latter
I have squeezed my Track frame ( seat pin and handlebars off) 4 wheels, pump, tools and a few bits into the boot kit bag is a wheeled type so on the passenger seat/footwell and soft bag you;d possibly go in the boot
Will try and get some photos latter
