Ha! It's actually a college car. "Edinburgh College 1". They not registered to go on the road :)

I do a mechanics evening class there, which is basically a car club where you have access to various ramps and every tool under the sun!

Woke it up from its winter slumber today, removed the car cover unhooked the battery charger and she started straight up with no fuss :D

its a few weeks earlier than I would normally but a bit of spring sunshine and an X5 that is broken yet again forced my hand.

£125 for 12 weeks at Edinburgh College. It's an absolute bargain. High end (mostly) equipment and qualified mechanics on hand.

I have little experience but with support in the last 18 months I've done shocks all round, track rods + tracking, all discs pads, diagnostics, changed all my oils, replaced full exhaust system, various little bits of electrics etc and all for the cost of just the parts

Managed to get my hands on what appear to be genuine clear spot rear lights. My previous set had faded badly due to me tinting a set of clear rear lights.

It's a shame they don't match now, but it's better than having orange rear lights  I could always put a bit of vinyl over the reverse light circle.

Check the foam that goes around the rear wheel arch. If it's wet higher up than the puddle was I'd be checking the roof drain etc on that side.
That was my original thought, but it only seems to do it with the hardtop fitted. I haven't noticed it being wet when the soft top is up, so not sure what's going on.

The foam is bone dry further up. It was only wet at the bottom.
Didn't realise your using a hardtop. Not sure how much the roof drains come into play as I don't have one.
If the foams only wet wet low down I would be thinking the black vent in the corner under the bumper or the previously mention light issue
Checked that vent today after more heavy rainfall left me with another small lake in my boot

The vent on the side with the water (off side)was seated really high and it was wet at the bottom of it. I checked the vent on the near side and that was seated much lower and it was bone dry. Pushed both vents right down and made sure they were seated correctly.

Now I just need some more heavy rainfall to see if it's worked. If so, happy days. If not, well i'm going to be really angry

Cheers for the suggestion

Got front disks and pads fitted before the snow started coming down fast, annoying as I do t like starting something and then having to stop but there we are. You can’t beat nature :( - unless you have a garage of course.

So the hub areas are plastic bagged up for the night and I’ll start again tomorrow.

It’s not the ground I’m worried about... bolting wet disks to wet hubs, putting wet sliders into wet calipers snowflakes in the fluid reservoir etc. Not worth the problems it could cause when I can carry on tomorrow.
