Hey thanks!, I bought the spacers from amazon as they had good reviews and so far they feel very solid. Proper installation is key to spacers for safety. The fronts came with extended bolts (12mm) and the rears don't use extended bolts as they are an adapter set. They bolt directly onto the rotor/discs and then your wheel bolts onto the new spacer.CHIMV8 wrote: ↑Wed Jul 11, 2018 3:42 pmHimattyman22 wrote: ↑Mon Jul 09, 2018 11:06 pm Well, today was a fun and productive day for the Batmobile. First up I went ahead and fit spacers all around her to widen that stance and fix the weird fitment of the stock wheels so far inside the fenders. On the front I fit 12mm and on the rear I fit 1" adapters. Here are some before and after photos:
Before/After Rear:

Also, I went ahead and fit in some experimental product I had never heard of before called "Sugru." My hardtop in the front on both sides had the smallest little opening where air would come in even though it was fit as well as I could get it using the toolkit. It would actually create a helluva noise at high speeds (which my car often sits at ) SO I decided to basically seal it up using Sugru. It's like a moldable glue compound which does an excellent job at closing up little gaps just like mine between the hardtop and the windscreen. Works like a charm and no more road noise! Once it's fully cured it has a very rubber-like consistency and looks right at home with the rubber already there, so it was great!

She's ready for some other mods down the line, but for today it was an excellent run!
Mods still planned:
LED conversion for interior lights
Leather seat restoration (cracks, scuffs, and dings) I'm considering buying seat covers but I liek my heated seats...
Removal of Hardtop Spoiler (maybe)
Eyebrows Mod (see my post on recreating a specific mod look I saw online)
Thanks for reading folks!

Stance looks well
Where have you bought your spaces and did they come with the extended bolts

Simon I'm curious, why did you feel the need to Dynamat the doors? Obviously with yours being an M its a post facelift, so they've got sound deadening in all ready.

Took the Z to the insurer's approved bodyshop/garage for photographic condition record.....normal thing here in Greece! Then fitted a new (OEM not aftermarket) BMW boot-lid latch motif (the original had a little internal white 'corrosion') and 4 new 56mm diameter logos for the Borbet wheels (sourced via eBay....Croatia (!)....looks a lot better now .......

That's interesting. Mines a Pre but I'd always been lead to believe the sound deadening was part of the Post face lift changes.Simon 3.2M wrote: ↑Thu Jul 12, 2018 10:35 amThere was none in there mate - much to my surprise. What have you done to your car today?
Well, yesterday, the starter sounded a bit laboured, and seeing as I hadn't driven the car for a week, (been driving the e23) I arrived at work wielding my battery charger, plugged in and left it juicing up for the morning...
Went out at lunch time - nothing, completely dead... Grabbed the multi-meter and battery looks fine... Call RAC, who told me after a number of checks that it must be the starter motor...
New unit ordered... Fitted in my lunch break today... Fixed... All is right in the world again!

Nice one paul! Must be a readily available generic part ? Amazed how certain aspects of these otherwise complex cars are straightforward when trouble strikes......how old was the battery ? Lifespan here in Greece is an average of 4 years on most cars with the wild temperature fluctuations etc....paullyjay wrote: ↑Thu Jul 12, 2018 2:46 pm Well, yesterday, the starter sounded a bit laboured, and seeing as I hadn't driven the car for a week, (been driving the e23) I arrived at work wielding my battery charger, plugged in and left it juicing up for the morning...

Yep - I went for a Lucas unit from eurocarparts rather than the original OEM Denso from BMW... I think the battery is only a year old or thereabouts - Batteries seem to last me about 3-4 years here in the UK too, I have 4 cars and seem to be forever disconnecting, connecting and charging them!!Beemer233 wrote: ↑Thu Jul 12, 2018 3:34 pmNice one paul! No problem I get a good impression of the work he does from the comments around the forum. Better that he gets your pennies rather than the tax man getting the money for all your petrol to come down here! Enjoy your upgrades

Get a ctek charger with a reconditioning cycle I've used one on the marlin because the battery wouldn't hold charge. Since I gave it a recondition cycle it's been a lot better.paullyjay wrote: ↑Thu Jul 12, 2018 3:46 pmYep - I went for a Lucas unit from eurocarparts rather than the original OEM Denso from BMW...
