oil change and and half returned the sound generator in its previous state; with both foams out, hard accelerating was unbearable.

After looking at aftermarket exhausts I suddenly realised I only took the larger piece out when I first got the car 18 or so months ago. Took the second piece out today and its like I've got a new car! That said I've only had a few half hour hoons so might think differently after some commuter traffic. Seemed to make my right foot heavy today though.

Nice new wheels but why are the daisies best scraped? No good as a track wheel/tyre?oldgitdave wrote: ↑Sat Feb 16, 2019 11:30 pm ......
On a side note, if anyone wants some 225/45/17 Vreds let me know. 2 with 6mm tread, 1with 5mm & 1 with 4mm, all 2013 date. 103 daisies are probably best scrapped. I think I was sold a pup with these but you live & learn .

I thought it was more noise than pleasure in my ears, so put back the one nearer to the engine.
had a quick blast afterwards and all is right with the world!!

When I had the Vreds put on them I was told the wheels didn't quite run true. There's a fair amount of balance weights on a couple of them but I've not noticed any issues whilst driving tbh. The finish looks nice from a distance but is failing for some reason, sort of crazing:Jamie25 wrote: ↑Sun Feb 17, 2019 12:09 amNice new wheels but why are the daisies best scraped? I could be interested in them if they felt okay but have cosmetic issues. However we're some distance apart, not sure how much a courier would cost but I could look into it. Not sure on forum rules.... Maybe pm me with a price if you want rid of them.

I'll put an ad in the for sale section to comply with forum rules. Paisley Freight are worth a look at £33.99 for 4 17" wheels & tyres couriered anywhere in the country.

Well today I battled removing my “old” number plates to be compliant with the spacing rule - well until after tomorrow’s retest anyway!
I only just realised that the place that repaired my front bumper must have taken my (acrylic) front number plate and have replaced it with a v much thinner aluminium backed plate - I didn’t know you could get them. The upshot is that although they fit really well with the amount of double sided tape on the back I struggled to budge it.
Do you reckon I can bend it back into shape to reuse or will I need to order another??

I wouldn't even bother trying to bend that back into shape

It'll go back fairly straight as long as you don't mind a wavey effect

Might just be me but it seems to be more related to throttle position than rev counter position. Either way when pressing on it's LOUD.

Yes it was Jonathan, they were the original's. I bought these ones because they were shadow chrome colour that I liked at the time. I've now switched to 18" MV3'S that I've always fancied.Jl-c wrote: ↑Sun Feb 17, 2019 3:56 pmnow, I could be wrong but wasn't it daisies that I bought from you recently?oldgitdave wrote: ↑Sun Feb 17, 2019 10:35 amWhen I had the Vreds put on them I was told the wheels didn't quite run true. Good for you! I envy you a little - I was really tempted to do the same yesterday, but didn't. I realised during the course of today rhat there's still quite a bit of salt on the motorways in my area,.so that sort of made me think I should still wait till March. Anal or what....LordOxygen wrote: ↑Sat Feb 16, 2019 11:02 pm Taxed it and drove it,
Was bored of waiting for the first of March, it's mild and dry so why not?
Getting back in a car with a fairly big engine is always a novelty after living with my daily driver over the winter, the shove in 3rd is lovely.
