Gotta luv a Z8!
Not Steve Jobs old car is it...?
Ha ha - not sure. This Texan owner was quite knowledgeable. His son is a BMW tech and he definitely knew what he had. Boy it was pretty... I googled and found a few for sale in the USA - but the price :o
Now back on topic
Yesterday I received a leather knee pad for the E89. Beautiful black leather (?) just the right size and price from eBay... shipped directly from China for like $3 with 2 sided tape a fixed... Just peel, stick, and drive. Ahhh, much better now

Fitted a first aid box under the drivers seat. Got the box, bracket and screws from eBay. Lined it with non-slip stuff and then spent 10 mins fitting it.

Those Torx screws needs a fair bit of pressure to get into the holes, but thanks to previous forum posts, I pushed and screwed and forced the little buggers in. 😀

Had ignition coil number 2 replaced at Synter Harverfordwest, on holiday in Wales and it failed on me.... Cost £240 for my trouble FFS but didn't really have options.

Painted the wheel weights. Not something I thought I’d ever consider necessary, but it’s been a slow week.

Switched over to the winter wheels today. It was 4ºC here this morning. My first season with the car so still very much enjoying all the fiddling around! My drive slopes steeply so we had to do it on the road outside my house - trolley jack was fine under the rear central jacking point but wouldn't fit under the front so, trolley jack out the side, quick three point turn and do the other front wheel. Almost coincides with putting the clock back! I've gone for 18" wheels for the winter tyres (it has 19" on the summer ones). It will be interesting to see if the ride is much different - they're both on run flats.

Put spacers on all 4 corners. 10s and 18s
Hoping it helps with her look like she's got a bit more of an attitude... :)

One of my clear front reflectors had condensation inside and going green, so instead of replacing with new, removed, split apart and re-sealed the old one and then sanded, primed, sprayed and clear coated both reflectors over a couple of days and reattached.

They are a bugger to remove as I had read because of the 10mm nut locations, one came off ok, the other was tough, ended up having to pull back part of the wheel liner to get the 2nd nut using a ratchet spanner.

The paint is a colour match (saphire black) match but because the car is dirty and the reflectors are brand new painted they almost stand out a little to much currently. will look better once the car is clean I'm sure but happy with the result :)
