andyf1140, when you replaced the rear brake pipes, did you have to drop the rear subframe as they say? Did you replace with copper pipes?

Spaniarduk no, we were able to thread the pipes through above the subframe. The trick is to flare one end of the pipe with the appropriate joiner on and thread it through from the passenger side to the drivers side and then bend it into shape so that it fits into the clips above the subframe. We didn't use copper it was kunifer or copper-nickel which is harder and less prone to cracking than pure copper.

Thanks for that, andyf1140, . Im sure it'll come the day when i'll have to do mine. Brake lines seem to be a weak pint for the e85 and e86

They do seem to be exposed where they would get hit by road debris which is what stats the rot. Since I replaced the slave cylinders on my son's Toyota only to have the pipe fall apart in my hands I've been rather more critical of the condition of the hard lines on my cars. If they have been advised I'd get them done pronto

Just popped outside to replace my front head light bulbs......3 hours later and all done!! I thought this sort of job was supposed to be able to be done by the roadside. Ended up taking the front wheels off to get decent access. :o
