The scree/bolt goes through the inner wing liner then the bumper then my plate, the glued in plat is because you can not get your hand in to put a washer and nut in there
The screws replace a plastics expanding rivet

5.5hrs spent yesterday : I painted the calipers and changed the clips as they were grotty. Seeing as the wheels were off I took the opportunity to give them (108s) a clean and wax (the insides on the front took some scrubbing :o ), and I cleaned and dressed the arch liners. I only managed one side for wheels and arches as i was running out of light; so i'll spend a couple of hours on them tonight. :(

I very nearly went luminous yellow as i thought these would look quite good on a black car, but I bottled it and went for a graphite finish instead which actually i'm pretty pleased with - look refreshed but not shouty.

dust caps are a little left over from stickering up the car for a lemans trip in 2016 (don't judge me)

(Intermin) Oil change + air filter + pollen filter. Air and pollen filter were VERY dirty. Also appears that pollen filter was put in backwards by previous mechanic/owner (based on flow arrow direction).

Finally got the OE knob off. That was bloody hard work. Had to sit on the arm rest and pull with body weight to remove.

ZHP knob shorter and quite a bit heavier. Will be interesting to see how it affects the changes.

I’m sure you’ll feel a marked improvement. Looks good in any case.

Thanks chaps.

Definitely does make the shift more weighty. I used to have a Storm Motorworks knob on my old 328i Saloon. Made a big difference to the change (bloody freezing in cold weather though!!)

Wife died last week aged 39. Sister is over here for support. She’s decorating the house to keep me distracted.

Bought 5 litres of paint today and on the way home I kicked the back end out a bit for fun......... Haven’t I suffered enough?
