I used Meyle HD stuff for years too and its on the front of my zed and it's been fine. Luckily I spotted the posts regarding the issues with their rear top mounts on here and other forums so went lemforder instead. Have to say I was surprised there were issues with the Meyle stuff too, normally you can swear by them. The irony here seems to be that the oem ones are lemforder anyway but the oem have a bad rap yet virtually everyone seem to say theyre old ones were fine.

Far as I'm aware my oem ones had managed 100k without issues, I just changed them as the strut was being changed anyway, seemed sensible and as you say, no issues with any Meyle parts previously.

Of course, if I'm wrong and this isn't the cause then I'm going to give up on the damn thing! :headbang:

This is the e85/e86 discussion area so the only confused people are the e89 owners. The discussion we were having we each knew what we were replying to.

good work on the exhaust, but whats going on with the rear end? It looks like matte finish? Did you paint the rear bumper with a brush?

Rear bumper needs respraying, that's a job for some nicer weather. The lacquer reacted in the cold after I painted the rear diffuser black and tried to touch up some of the bumper. It's actually in a rubbed down state at the moment.

Yep bolted on fine Mike thanks, though I needed a bit of help from my dad with this one as it's not my forte. The biggest issue was getting round the carbon canister, there's wasn't a lot of room back there. There was something that looked like some sort of siren that needed moving too. Managed it in the end it just took a bit of trial and error.

It sounds great though! We weren't done until late last night so it's still at the unit at the moment needing to finish building the last bits back up, I'm just waiting on a lift down there now to finish it off then I'll get some daylight pics. I'm made up with it though it looks awesome, it's taken a while to get round to it but I really appreciate getting hold of it off you thanks! :D

So that's the difference between Meyle HD and Lemforder. Its also the difference between knocking and silent rear suspension. Thank god that's done!

Also replaced this... Not sure what one it's meant to be but clearly not from a Zed, as it was wider than the base.

Edit: also did my differential oil while the car was up, simple enough of a job, the oil looked well used though!
