What have you done to your car today?
Replaced the two upper O2 sensors. No errors but BMW recommends replacing at 100k miles. My car is at just over 219K miles.
It may be a placebo effect, but on my test drive it felt like it had more pull to it than previously

Finally cleaned the Zed yesterday (and the Merc). I haven’t washed it since it had its ceramic coating but my goodness it makes a difference. Dried off using a Gtecniq towel and then a top up with the quick detailer. Looked very glossy and it’s the first time I’ve been able to see the orange fleck in the metallic paintwork. I think SanFran Red looks very flat but it finally showed its true colours yesterday.

Just..... Gorgeous.Obicoke wrote: ↑Tue Mar 31, 2020 9:12 pm I've just had my silver MV2 alloys changed to black gloss. Just waiting for new front black bolts to arrive. Already got black chrome bolts on the back as they came with the 20mm Black spacer I put on. I've ordered a black gloss grill and waiting for that. But loving the look already.
I do love a red E86.

Declared it SORN I've only driven it three times, excluding the drive home from buying it, but I'm fortunate that two of those three drives were sun-drenched, deserted pre-lockdown roads along the Dorset and Exmoor coasts. Something tells me it'll be a very clean car when it's taxed again!

Got phase one of my Alcantara project finished today and I’m pleased with the results.
Just need some screws for my new head unit and that can go in and the vents pushed back, hopefully they still fit - I know they’re tight in carbon leather.
Need to find a usb socket to replace the oem aux in with as well but there’s a cable behind ready

Don’t I want to get this done so badly . I’m not in a place to enquire yet but I’m hoping I can get them to do my handbrake and gear knob and gaiter too...Truth wrote: ↑Wed Apr 01, 2020 7:01 pmSilverzedtom wrote: ↑Wed Apr 01, 2020 4:23 pm Got phase one of my Alcantara project finished today and I’m pleased with the results.

Looks great. How hard is it to do? I've done a vinyl wrap and didn't do too badly, but would love to have alacantara though.Silverzedtom wrote: ↑Wed Apr 01, 2020 4:23 pm Got phase one of my Alcantara project finished today and I’m pleased with the results.

Thanks! Not hard at all just really fiddly, you have to be careful not to put so much adhesive on the Alcantara that it soaks it up and obviously any spilt glue / adhesive will ruin the fabric. I used 3m foam fast 74 as the adhesive and loctite superglue to glue the edges on the back side once the adhesive on the face had dried. Time will tell how long it lasts, I thought it worth a shot as the adhesive could easily be removed and the trim wrapped if it doesn’t last. The knee pads will be my biggest challenge - not sure how I’ll do those yetidej_z4 wrote: ↑Wed Apr 01, 2020 7:21 pmLooks great. How hard is it to do? Got mine on axles, done an interim oil/filter change, new air filter and finally got round to fitting my ram air scoop - won’t get to test if it makes any difference for a while though

With so much time on our hands not driving the Zeds at least you can have a few goes.Silverzedtom wrote: ↑Wed Apr 01, 2020 7:37 pmThanks!
