Insulated the garage door to keep the Z warm in the NZ winter. $250 and made a huge difference.

Yep, sure is. She's purely a leisure car so she gets SORN'D over winter. Me & the wife love to just jump in & drive, take in the views go for a pub lunch etc. That's not going to happen for a while unfortunately  . We all just need to stay safe & get through this & hopefully there will still be some summer left to take advantage of  .

I cleaned them both 2 days ago and not been on the road since then. Today I tried a new product "Turtle Wax 53139 Hybrid Sealant Spray Wax Hydrophobic Fused With Carnauba" Seems pretty good so I shall keep using it. The mini came up best but I think that is just because of the red as opposed to the silver of the z4. ImageDSC07069.jpg by , on Flickr

Bought it last February and took delivery yesterday. First ride :)

Two and a half hours of spirited driving thru country roads. That M is just awesome, one of the funniest car I drove in years. Other than being pure joy, here 3 things that I want to correct real soon.

1. Clutch is a bit weird, but from my reading it seems that the CDV delete could fix this "minor annoyance".

2. Roads are really bad here (Quebec, Canada) so the ride is on the rough side. It is not breaking neck bad, but it could be improved. Not a rush but I think that Coilovers would probably help. I will read more on the subject.

3. Can't heel&toe those pedals. I know it is subjective to the driver depending of many things, but I think that I will need to find a longer pedal for the throttle.

REALLY happy of this acquisition. Today I will install my MGruppe intake and Stromung exhaust.

Cleaned it inside.
Touched in a couple of stone chips.
Then went shopping in it.

For a double door it took me a day to do. You need a decent cutting surface as you have to trim the insulation and the corflute top layer. I didn’t use the glue to bond the corflute to the insulation as it is held in place with the door panels. Like most projects I got quicker cutting and fitting as I progressed. Mega mitre ten and Bunnings stock the product. Well worth doing imo.
Good tutorial on the net.

Checked the roof still works and let it air out for a bit on the driveway. Cars are no use whatsoever currently, but as long as they look clean, I'm happy

I'm aware the driveway needs jetwashing, but I'm unable to get some sand to brush in afterwards, so it'll have to stay dirty until shops open again.

Found some time to wash the zed, not much point in it hanging out on the drive so decided to park it up in the garage where it’s going to stay clean.
Used to bug me having to open the boot/bonnet to connect the smart charger so I’ve wired another connector behind the front grill where it’s easily reachable and unobtrusive when not in use
