What have you done to your car today?

Had a nice trip up to Lancashire today through Bowland. First time venturing out there in the Zed and it was a lovely day, plenty of spots to open the taps, along with a few beautiful slow bits.

What have you done to your car today?

Started my summer prep today - a little late to the party I know...

Engine bay and wheel arches got a proper good seeing too with degreaser and then dressing.

The roof got treated with raggtopp.

The body got chemical guys clean slate shampoo, a polish with G techniq P1 compound with a white hex pad (by hand), then a quick layer of detail spray.

Next weekend the refurbed wheels arrive and I can clay polish and wax and sort the inside.

A few pics.

Nice work!

What did you use to dress the engine bay and wheel arches? I need some for both my cars and the product I've tried before ends up leaving streaky marks (autoglym engine cleaner).

Lost count of the products ive tried for this task but "Rally" recommended this stuff & i wouldn't waste my money on anything else now .
Dilute for interior /exterior/underbonnet plastics , use neat on tyres it stays on way longer than anything else ive used

I used chemical guys gear head degreaser, seems a lot better at removing grime from the metal parts than AG.

Dressing wise I used chemical guys hyper coat protective dressing. Great stuff, goes a long way too.

I’ve been using a mixture of Swissvax, chemical guys and g tecniq stuff recently.

I’m done for the day now though, started drinking beer whilst waiting for the roof protector to dry between coats  it seems it only takes four bottles these days :slaphead:

We took the Z down to Hythe for the weekend. Was a pleasure to drive. Managed 44mpg at motorway speeds which I thought was good :)

Just insured her for the next 12 months; £182 fully comp + legal protection :D . I only have 2 years NCD as she's my second car. Being an old git has its advantages
