Went for a nice roof down loop this morning and then got the new passenger cup holder fitted. Should stop the nagging for a while

I’ve refused to get cup holders because I refuse to enable the other-half to consider having opened drinks in the z as acceptable

Am I right in thinking that the early cars only have the wiring and don’t have the heater mats in the seats?MACK wrote: ↑Sun Feb 18, 2018 12:29 pmI'll save you trawling the forum/net. If your car was built pre October 2004 it should be pre wired for heated seats and also cruise control. So in terms of ease this is one of the easiest upgrades you can do on early zeds.Z4 - Kev wrote: ↑Sun Feb 18, 2018 10:35 amE85 heated seats - Pre-wired?
If you look at the wires in my hand on the photo above and your E85 matches them you should be ok. I think from memory you'll need the red & purple looking wire plus the yellow & green wire. A second hand panel switch from ebay (£50) shouldn't be to hard to find.
Once fitted the three little heated seat lights should light up once the button is pushed, if they flash - not pre-wired.
In all honesty I fitted the switch panel and hoped for the best. How lucky I was.
Have a search on the Web. Good luck and let me know how you get on.
Kev.

Yes that's correct, unfortunately you still need the seats with the mats in and of course the switch panelCoffee331 wrote: ↑Sun Feb 18, 2018 9:53 pmAm I right in thinking that the early cars only have the wiring and don’t have the heater mats in the seats?MACK wrote: ↑Sun Feb 18, 2018 12:29 pmI'll save you trawling the forum/net. I can definitely check the wiring, but who knows if the heating element is in my seat. I guess I could always try like Kev and hope for the best.

New boots fitted, even if I was less than impressed with the fitters... 6psi too high a pressure in all the wheels made it lovely and hard on the drive home! Sorted out yesterday evening.
Significantly improved ride this morning, and much more grip on the wet roads than previous tyres. Despite these new ones not being scrubbed in fully yet as I've only done 20 miles. Manufacturer says it takes around 500 miles to fully clear all release compounds and scrub the tread in properly.
Now it's booked in for a full wheel refurb and powder coat this week, so will be looking lovely and shiny at the weekend, where I'll be coating them in a ceramic coating.

Sound like a good result. What tyres did you go with and what did you start with? Who you using for the wheel refurb?mjennings23 wrote: ↑Mon Feb 19, 2018 11:33 amNew boots fitted, even if I was less than impressed with the fitters... 6psi too high a pressure in all the wheels made it lovely and hard on the drive home! It had Pirelli P-Zeros on the rear and P7 fronts, swapped all 4 to Michelin PS4.MACK wrote: ↑Mon Feb 19, 2018 2:26 pmSound like a good result. What tyres did you go with and what did you start with? Refurb is being done by a local place near the city centre, drive in same day service so dropping it with them on the way home tomorrow and just working from home Wednesday.
Should be good! Got some CarPro c.quartz ceramic coating being delivered this week to give them a coat at the weekend.

Looks good! I need to do that to my seats, is there a special colour I need to order or is it just a generic black? Thanks!

Some more pictures to try and explain.
The standard plastic one will cause problems over .8 bar of pressure so I hear so this plenum won’t I am using the plastic manifold that bolts to the head joining that with the blue silicone houses. The plenum is tapered to try and insure equal forced air to each cylinder.
