Changed my rear diff oil. I cut down a 14mm allen key so that it would fit the awkward space.

Also decided to respray the anthracite grey trim pieces in the centre console and then decided to go ahead and respray all the pieces in the car black. Also resprayed the steering wheel trim as they were worn (again sprayed black) :).

On the outside I'm currently working through respraying the black plastic too. Got the bits beside the wing mirrors done at the weekend.
Quite happy so far with it. Plastidip is my new favourite thing!
Wasnt sure i would like the carbon effect on the dash etc,but TBH it looks the dogs
How did you find out how to remove the trims without breaking the holding tabs

Mini-mod today. Had a bit of leftover gloss black wrap on the bench at the detailing studio, so figured to give it a try on my gear knob (auto box).

Must say I like the look. Ties in well with the gloss black centre console trim. The finish isn’t brilliant, but then it was a quick 5-minute try out jobbie. I’ll be reupholstering the shifter and boot sometime this winter, and this has helped me decide to spray the central trim piece gloss black while I’m at it.
Four Alfa's and a Ducati later, I've turned to the dark side...

I finished off the stainless braided hose fitment with fresh brake fluid and whilst the wheels were off took the opportunity to give them a good clean and inspection. Considering that they were refurbished about ten years ago they have stood up remarkably well, although to be fair they have never been out on gritted roads and probably only seen the rain a handful of times :D

There you go, it's was my lock-down project. A rare 1971 750 sf cross-over model in factory spec' with the earlier 'camel back' tank and anti-social pipes, plus the sf upgrades including Ceriani suspension and monstrous magnesium race-spec drums.... great care is required in the wet!
It had one owner for 45 years before being restored and toured on by the owner's club chairman, then I bought it and have been fettling/detailing it between rides. I think There may be 5 or 6 on the road in the UK. I cannot believe how few people, including 'bikers' don't know what a Laverda is (was), particularly since the 750 cleaned up in endurance racing for several years and the Jota was the fastest production bike in the world for some time. They were fairly rare TBF, expensive and exotic at the time.

The passenger door has never unlocked since buying the car, so spent the afternoon either rummaging inside the passenger door or upside down in the passenger footwell trying to debug it. The previous owner informed me the previous to them owner had disabled the passenger door from unlocking, wasn't clear if that was a physical cut or just software coding. I believe it's coded to unlock the passenger door on single unlock press of the key (easy entry), so should work but it doesn't.

I'd ordered a replacement lock but on testing it before ripping the old one out of the door it also doesn't unlock so now suspecting an electrical issue. Traced all the wiring from lock to GM5 module and verified the pins are in the right locations / wires have continuity.

Now pretty sure the relays in the GM5 are failing, so getting that fixed is likely the next job. Forum history has been fantastically helpful as always, especially when upside down in the footwell

Also (retro)fitted the passenger cup holder. Guess which muppet ordered one on ebay without really checking which side of the car it was for. Driver's side now on order… :headbang:

Oh ace, thanks. I must admit I got into quite a nice position upside down in the footwell, having done a cycle sportive this morning it was quite nice not being on my feet for a while

I finished a 2-day HPDE class at Nelson Ledges track in OH. I learned a ton about myself an my 2007 3.0si. This was only my second HPDE (first at Mid Ohio in 2019) and I know that I need to spend money on track time way before considering upgrades of any sort.
