Only positive is the rear bushes on the subframe were an advisory, so they will be done as well.

Driven from Norwich to Gothenburg (over the last 3 days), 978 miles covered, which took me past 140,000, max speed on Autobahn 133 (according to sat nav), far too much traffic to get it flat out. Highlight so far is going over the Øresund Bridge.

How's the Mini to work on? Looking at getting an R53 for the other half and I know well I'll end up being the one looking after it!
Easy enough, but lots of parts to remove to get to things.

Subframe now on the floor so nearly there getting the box out. Starter motor also needs to come out.
R50 will be easier to work on than the R53! In fact, R50 is pretty solid, only small bits and bobs needed for ours. Good small engine IMO, not too dissimilar to the quality of the M54!

Amazing car. Liked the way how you maintained it. The new wheels look elegant.

More a resume of the end of the year toil than a what have I done today. I have just got it back from the paint shop, front done, scratch on door and dent on boot. That followed, deep breath, new tyres March, 108's refurbished May, MOT, Polybushed and door soundproofing June, Koni adjustable suspension all round +springs, paint calipers, new pad retaining clips August and new Osram zenon bulbs and a second four wheel alignment in September.

An expensive year but lots of good weather and memorable drives. Service next year but thats about it, unless I sell it in the spring and find something else to start on. :o

The first thing to go wrong on the Zed has now been fixed.

Cigarette power socket blew a fuse so wasn’t charging my phone
Replaced and moved on hoping that’s it for a while 😂

Mounted front license plate bracket and the plate. Ugly, but legal now.

Fitted one of these https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BMW-iPod-iPh ... 2749.l2649 which works very well in place of the CD changer that has gone west anyway! Also found that when you plug in the AUX cable (subject of lots of posts on the forum) then you disconnect the bluetooth for the 'phone connection if you have the factory one. So, removed the pins from one inserted them into the other and I have AUX and bluetooth for 'phone. Luckily the pins connect to different places so all is good. Follow the pin outs from pinoutguide.com. So all in all a productive day!
