What have you done to your car today?
Drove it, in anger, to see if the clutch slippage was any worse...
It seems to have disappeared
What other explanation could there be for the revs building, but no speed increase, whilst in gear? It's baffling me.
Last week it happened a few times, where I would accelerate from 50mph (on an NSL Road) and the revs climbed quickly, but the speed stayed the same.
It almost felt like I was riding the clutch, but I wasn't

I wonder if you had some contamination on it. Any signs of an oil leak etc underneath near where the gearbox/engine join togetherben g wrote: ↑Thu May 24, 2018 2:22 pm Drove it, in anger, to see if the clutch slippage was any worse...

I noticed this 'wet' patch last weekend. It looks like it's coming from the join between engine and gearbox, though there aren't any oil patches on my driveway, so I'm unsure.MACK wrote: ↑Thu May 24, 2018 3:32 pmI wonder if you had some contamination on it. Hmm, probably RMS. I know I'll be doing mine when the clutch eventually gives out.
Today I took the windscreen washer jets apart for a clean to see if I can stop the crying effect when the car gets hot.

As fearless says above, It could well be the rear main seal leaking oil on to the friction linings of the clutch. Its cheap/simple enough to replace once the box and clutch/flywheel are out of the way if you do end having to do that. My advice at this point would be to hang fire and keep an eye on it, see if it gets any worse or if you have a repeat of the clutch slip episode and then go from there.

Lol, it's on MSport suspension and spacers, so a touch lower than std, I'd just turned it around on the hill though.ben g wrote: ↑Thu May 24, 2018 4:30 pmLooks lovely except from the 4x4 ride heightDucklakeview wrote: ↑Thu May 24, 2018 3:14 pm Gazed at the difference the aero skirts make.. Part of me wishes I'd kept it on sport springs, if I'm honest.Ducklakeview wrote: ↑Thu May 24, 2018 4:47 pmLol, it's on MSport suspension and spacers, so a touch lower than std, I'd just turned it around on the hill though.ben g wrote: ↑Thu May 24, 2018 4:30 pmLooks lovely except from the 4x4 ride heightDucklakeview wrote: ↑Thu May 24, 2018 3:14 pm Gazed at the difference the aero skirts make.. I just asked a bloke in work to have a look (it helps working in an engine production centre) and he said the same thing.MACK wrote: ↑Thu May 24, 2018 4:43 pmAs fearless says above, It could well be the rear main seal leaking oil on to the friction linings of the clutch. I have to top up about a litre of engine oil extra 2-3 week, so I assumed it was a blocked CCV causing oil consumption issue's. Perhaps it's this leak instead?

Drove in the rain for the first time since buying my coupe and was pleasantly surprised to find out I've got auto wipers! You learn something new every day

They do look good. I was thinking of removing and selling my Stirling grey aero front bumper, but seeing yours had me thinking maybe I should keep it and seek out some skirts (as others suggested on my thread). Hmmm.Ducklakeview wrote: ↑Thu May 24, 2018 3:14 pm Gazed at the difference the aero skirts make.. Just need to find the time to wash her now...
