Alpina Roadster S/E85, Custom Air Intake system..

Post by SkiNNeR » Mon Sep 26, 2016 8:26 pm

Hey there guys hows it going? I'm just wondering if anyone on here has seen anyone else custom build an induction Heatshield of some kind for either an E85 Z4 or Alpina 3.4 s? I'm looking to change my air intake from a box to a cone, It looks there is a ram air tube that runs down to the splitter, Wasn't sure if a similar E46 intake system would fit my alpina... I was going to fabricate something myself, any help on this would be great as i'm struggling to find anyone else who's tried this?

Cheers

Is it not a standard air box on the Alpina?

It's a standard 3.0i air box.

Are you sure its a standard airbox? my old 3.0i didn't have the same ducting from the front grill.. Does this mean i can get an induction kit for a 3.0i and it will fit? I didn't find anything with a heatshield for that either..

It's a standard airbox in the Alpina, there is no ducting from the front grill, only the standard pipe to the half-cup behind the top grill - looks the same as any standard E85 airbox.

Where has yours got ducting? Can you take a picture?

Woops forgot to reply, there is a duct that runs from under the airbox to the front Kidney grill. Maybe that is the same on the standard Z4 :) 1.5 years late reply :))))
