But only if it has the fitted wind deflector between the roll hoops.enzed4 wrote:But it is missing these:

Doesn't look like it has the fittings on the original pics of the car.

I have both along with a spare Gimp Deflector in a bag from the 2.5 I had.

It may have been retrofitted. I did this on my last car and the dealer didn't supply the boot brackets. I bought later for about £12 from memory.Marlon wrote:My car has the OEM wind deflector but not the boot lid mounts?skelters wrote:Here's the part numbers....

I bought mine from ECS tuning because I had a replacement soft top motor and insulation coming from them at the same time, so no difference in shipping. The damn things kept falling out until I was told you really have to push them in firmly to fit them correctly, and now they're spot on. Don't use them much but I just wanted the option available if I needed it.Marlon wrote:My car has the OEM wind deflector but not the boot lid mounts?skelters wrote:Here's the part numbers....

Thing is I'm not sure I'd use em much either - I never take the wind deflector off. Some say the mesh restricts rear visibility in the winter but can't say I've noticed.enzed4 wrote:I bought mine from ECS tuning because I had a replacement soft top motor and insulation coming from them at the same time, so no difference in shipping. Only time I remove my deflector is when I have the hardtop on, otherwise you have no way of cleaning the inside of the rear screen. When the soft tops on, it's not an issue, so just leave it in. I prefer the illusion it gives of a darker rear window.

Same here, never take it off. I've also read it can affect the operation on the auto dimming rear view mirror - not noticed that eitherMarlon wrote:Thing is I'm not sure I'd use em much either - I never take the wind deflector off. You've inspired me to do a restoration job on my coupe I've had it about eight months and done 12k miles in it already. So rather than depreciate the value too drastically I'm retiring it from daily duties and I'll start giving it a makeover like you are doing. Great work it's been interesting to read and as I said earlier an inspiration.
