Looking forward to seeing the old velocipede brought back to life. My foglights were beyond saving so bought new ones from eurocarparts for £120 the pair, added extra silicone around the joints to keep the condensation at bay and guess what!? The condensation has returned in less than a year! You won't regret buying a 2 litre, a nice free revving unit which pulls the car well and is perfectly weighted front/rear. Hope you enjoy many smiley miles when it's back on the road Andy.
2008 Z4 2.0i SE E85, Space Grey, 18" 241 staggered rims, 255/35/18, 225/40/18, 2 tone anthracite/silverstone leather Msport heated seats, M sport MFC Steering wheel, Bluetooth, Comfort pack, Tracker, Automatic climate control, Gaptech, Blah, blah.

Shame about those foglights. May even strip mine down and convert them into DRL's.
And its back on the road already! Amazing little car.

Ok., Back brakes done!
Story shown in pics (some crap!)
Even sprayed part of the adjuster on the handbrake mechanism! Well, it was rusty!
Blew softop drain holes clear and used a borescope to check that they were. Motor side certainly was but good now after waterfall!
Then up onto my lift for oil change, air filter change, screenwash top up.
And out for a test drive, and its beautiful and smooth.
Going to scope the coils next to get some baseline readings.
Andy.

Okay, we are back on the streets.
So, its ashtray lid time.
Its crap photo time! Bloody phones.
As you probably remember, the ash tray lid was in the boot
It looks as if the lid was removed from the top by twisting and pulling!! As some of you may know, it can onbly be removed from underneath, with the whole assembly removed from the car
These 3 bits had broken off
Here it is removed and broken down into its component parts
And now its repaired and back together! Just missing the ashtray. HOW THE HELL can an ashtray go missing! HOW? Tell me? Bloody irritating I can tell ya. Anybody got one?

Well, well, well. I cant believe it! nightyard was right! It WAS inside the dash! Exactly as he said! What a star!nightyard wrote:I would look for the cupholder inside the vent.
its attached with like a single screw and I pushed mine into the vent one time.
Rescued it, and one of the runners had broken off, but I found that as well inside the dash!
Another crap photo
So, plastic weldedthat back on and used Q bond the furter secure it.
It had broken here
So, complete stripdown (again) and repaired the broken bit and reassembled
May have saved myself some money!! Until my clear boot light!!
Andy.

Funny you should say that! I dont! I go to bed about midnight, wake up at 4, then thats it! So I go downstairs, do my online courses "engine management system diagnostics" then I go to my workshop......
