I was recently told by BMW (they will remain nameless for now) that it would cost about £300 and would make my changer useless!!!!!

Whats the score?

They trying to rip you off :?

It took me (and I took my time) about 1.5 hours to do it. So a BMW tech should be able to do it in alot less time!

I've finally managed to find it on mine thanks to this thread!

Only issue is I have an iPhone X, so I can't charge the phone and use a headphone jack at the same time :headbang:

On some threads, people have spoken about the special module you can get installed. Is this something that is straightforward to get and would any decent car audio specialist be able to do the install?

I had one of these fitted:

It has inputs for mini SD card, USB, phono and some of them accept a Bluetooth connection as well.
It works brilliantly for the price

Brerlan - do you have any pictures of how you have it fitted and can you confirm whether it’ll play and charge an iphone from the usb? I like the idea of being able to skip tracks from the car controls...

Hi Dark blue, I had mine fitted inside the glove box because I only use the SD card and USB inputs. It emulates (and uses the connections for) the CD changer I believe. It's very compact so if you wanted the connections easily accessible, I'm sure you could find somewhere for it to go. I don't know whether it does deliver a charge from the USB or play from the iPhone; I'll check and get back.
