- no mention of which handles better or which is faster?
Surely the vert is heavier??
Or are they identical in weight, suspension, bracing etc?
Actually the coupe ways more, 10kg in ///M spec
And that is without the fatter coupe drivers as well

How 'fat' are you? I'm willing to bet it's more than 10kg over 68kg. The weight is in the glass which is at the back and I don't mind a marginally more rearward weight bias.

I'll take the structural rigidity that's over double the roadster's thanks. :driving:

Your old roadster is carrying about 100 and handles just fine :D

To be frank, the coupe and roadster serve different purposes so depending on what you want will determine what's best.

If you want to waft your bonce in the airy breeze and enjoy a quite different sensation of open top motoring then the roadster rocks. If you want a decent boot and slightly better dynamics the coupe wins. Looks wise either wins but personal preference can swing it.

PS: I know you were joking but it's hard to convey the tone of response on the internet. :-)

Recently OG ( M coupe ) & Darren Stone ( M roady ) were out & swapped vehicles for a time
Both noticed differences in drive & handling with objective comments written on the virtues of both
Can't remember which thread it was in though :?
As for the OP question ? I was Coupe all the way until i ventured into a roadster , now i think a weekend car for me would need that extra element dropping the top offers & certainly in the M roady you realy get to hear where your money has gone  intoxicating :driving:

Wanted a coupe, bought a roady and I wouldn't change now. It can't get better than a roof down with the S54 at full keg.

There's definitely a much better sound if your window is down.

If you love that M rasp and induction roar you can't beat the surround-sound aural orgasm that is the noise bouncing of trees, hedges walls and the atmosphere in general when you're blatting round the lanes with the top down. End of

Have you though about an e89?

It is an improvement in most areas over the e85/e86 just not as enjoyable to drive in the twisties. Hard to think that the design of the e85 is now 12 years, well older than that if you consider development time.
