Cleaning MV2's
This weekend i washed my car. The car looked good but the wheels - ur, well i gave up. They are such a pain
I have just ordered some little cleaning brushes from ebay, not sure if they are suitable or not, but for £1.49 its worth a try

Re: Cleaning MV2's
Will be interested to know how they perform Taz... the MV2's are a pain in the ass to clean Mine have a few kerb marks on (from when the wife drive it obviously!) and solely tempted to get them refurbed in the summer just to save me having to give them a good clean

Not sure about anyone else, but I use cheap paintbrushes from Tesco to clean the hard-to-reach bits on alloys - 104's aren't the easiest either. Something like a quid for a pack of 3 or something. Homebase basics brushes are good for this too.

Yeah Taz, you could just let the dirt corrode off instead.srhutch wrote:Good reason to get some 108's (

This is the best alloy wheel detailing brush on the Market IMO

It should be thin enough to fit into your wheels crevices. Relatively expensive but works far better than anything else I have used.

Got to agree the EZ brush is by far the best brush for your wheels ,although I quite fancy trying the Wheel Woolies from Polish Bliss.

I think ill give the EZ brush, I've had enough of cleaning the MV2s with sponge.

Re: Cleaning MV2's
For what it's worth, and please don't laugh, but when I had my 330Ci Sport the best thing for cleaning the wheels was a pair of rubber gloves I don't know what it is about BMW brake dust, because it didn't work so well on my Boxster, but using my Marigold clad fingers to wipe the wheels used to work a treat at removing the muck, followed by a rinse with the hose. I have to say I have quite small hands so I could fit my fingers in the nooks and crannies, but it used to work every time!
As a girlie I am not averse to wearing pink rubber gloves, but perhaps for some of you geezers the ordinary clear latex gloves might work just as well?

Re: Cleaning MV2's
I have MV2's on my wife's 5 series, and I can fully agree there a PITA to clean, not quite as bad as my Alpina's, but still a pain. I brought a brush from Halfords, works ok, just watch out for the "flicks" of water or wheel cleaner when you pull the brush out ! ( Eyes, Cloths, Mouth ! you get the picture )
The MV2's also show alot of the inside of the rim, so to get them really clean you need to take the wheels off, but ive not been that anal yet
