E85 cruise control switch/stalk

Post by thespannerman » Tue Sep 07, 2021 12:19 pm

Chaps

Is the cruise control stalk unique to the Z4, as I would have thought something like this would have been common to 3 series amongst others.

As above. It’s a good mod and relatively inexpensive. I use mine a lot.

Yes, sadly it seems to be specific to the E85/6 even though most BMWs of that era use a very similar stalk.

I find myself using it quite a lot these days with all the average speed cameras and variable limits on Motorways in my part of the world. :(
Coupes because stunning!

Yes, E46s had buttons on the wheel, but E87 generation 1 Series and E9* generation 3 Series use a similar stalk - sadly not the same one though!

When you set it on the E9* ones they flash up the speed you have set it for on the speedo, which is quite handy.

Hi guys

Whats the going rate for the stalk these days from a dealer? I bought the wiring loom a long long time ago and never did get around to getting the stalk. So few come up on ebay but may as well bite the bullet and buy new.

Thank you
Coupe - Montego Blue. 108's, simplest mod - second medical box :-)

The journey so far;
i) 1998 Ford Focus 1.8 Litre
ii) The Z
iii) what else is needed?

Not for £119 surely?
You can get genuine BMW stalk only from the Baltic factors (e.g. LLL parts) for under £100 delivered.

Was quoted 130 quid including vat from local main stealer earlier this week for the stalk.

Did you try Cotswold BMW or Sopers of Lincoln? They offer a forum discount and include delivery.
