Hello everyone , thinking of upgrading the existing car radio in my 2003 Z4 2.5 to add more modern one with bluetooth .
Any recommendations for what to go for that would fit etc ?

It's a single DIN head unit.

If all you want if bluetooth then there are some much cheaper options than replacing the whole head unit.

I picked up one of these - https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/154449192863 and it works surprisingly well.

A little worried about parasitic drain, this thing seems to be always turned on but hey ho. Guess I'll have to go for a drive

Hi
I went for a pioneer MVH-S520DAB head unit.
It has DAB, USB and Bluetooth.
I got an adapter for the steering wheel controls (not available for all manufacturers though).
Easy to fit with a little bit of modifications to the adaptor facia.
Sound is much better than the OEM.
Only downside is it doesn't look as integrated as the original.
3.0si roadster. Requisite stubby. Sound gen mod. LED numberplate lights. LED boot strip. Interior lights LED too. ZHP gearknob. Daily drive :driving:
Motor in boot. Bilstein B8 dampers. New radio, much better sounds

So I've just picked up an E85 and the sound appears to be a bit ropey (Business CD unit) I feel like due to the age of the car I'd be better off just changing speakers rather than the whole head unit to improve sound.. What are your guys thoughts?

Speakers will be fine, you can even amp them up, they are pretty good quality for OEM. The weak link is the headunit.
