Show me those taillights!

I just ordered a set of lights with 4 clear centers for my 2003. It currently has clears all around and I don’t love it. Torn on the third brake light if I should go back to factory red on my dark silver car. But I want to see yours for inspiration!

Not sure if you want to see standard, or even if they would be the same in your neck of the woods, but here's a bog-standard, as per the factory, UK set up.
Sorry, not quite square on, but you get the idea?
I believe you can mix and match UK and Euro rear lights as the reverse and fog lights are the opposites.
So two reds or two whites (with a red bulb in the fog)

Also, looking at yours, you don't have the 'french fries' between the inner and outer light sections. These are personal choice but IMO they do break up the light and emphasise the circular section better.

I've always loved the full clear tail lights for the Z4. I regret not buying a set back when these parts were cheaper, it would look amazing on my black Z4. Now they're harder to find in good condition or not expensive :|

I did just that. sourced the driver side from the US and put in a red bulb. I prefer the symmetry. just about to buy and fit a clear 3rd brake light.

Looks great! I'm excited to get mine in. Still 50/50 on clear vs. red for the 3rd light, but thanks for sharing!

If I ever have to replace the light I think I’ll go for red; the clear one gets a bit lost in the silver paintwork.

you could just get a tinting company to put a red film over the whole lot (or just the white centres). I'm thinking of tinting my orange centres.

Here's my contribution then, double whites, no french fries, clear third brake light (this is an older picture, meanwhile quite some things changed again, including removal of the gimp wind deflector):

Reason for sticking to the clear third brake light is exactly as Parabolica mentions: it gets nicely lost in the silver paintwork. I actually like that and feel no need to highlight it by having a different color.

Looks clean! How did you end up getting dual exhausts on a non-M car? Did you have to do a full bumper swap, add new headers etc?

Thank you ever so much! Nope, this specific backbox has been produced by a German company called Stueber and they basically integrate two backboxes into one (fitting in the original spot) and then route the flow of one of them to the regular exit and route the flow of the other to a newly cut exit (which they cut out using a template based on the existing bumper cut out). There are many varieties to this available throughout Europe, all based on having two different flows and not having to lift your battery into the trunk, etc.

Which is very true indeed. Off topic: For me it started with a 100% standard '07 E85 2.5si. Twelve years down the road I ended up with the above '03 E85 3.0i, which has been modified at about 70 points (ranging from a complete interior swap to a compressor and back) and an '08 E86 3.0si, which has been modified at about 15 points. I am sure there is more to come and that will not come cheap ...
