Z4 vs. C5

Post by Papa 1961 » Sat Jul 17, 2021 9:33 pm

Good Afternoon,
I've all but got myself convinced to shop for and buy a Z4. I'm new to this forum and have looked for some comparison discussion on the C5 vs. Z4 and have yet to find it. I apologize if I'm just not able to find it. I'm 59 and have always thought I'd like a C5. I've liked the looks of the Z4s also, but hadn't ever really considered getting one. My research has brought me to the point where it seems I could buy a newer, nicer Z4 for less money than a C5. I'd like to hear from anyone who is familiar with both. I'd really appreciate anyone's thoughts as I haven't had the opportunity at this point to spend much time in either one.
Thank you in advance.

A Corvette C5.
I also wanted to add I owned a 2002 325ci convertible a few years ago. I had great luck with it and sold it, kind of had seller's remorse ever since. At one time I also owned a R1150GS, so I'm aware of the quality of BMWs and am very pleased with the workmanship of both their cars and motorcycles.

Welcome to the forum.

I'm glad it's a Corvette C5 - I was worried it might have been a Citroen!

Form member "Fishy Dave" went to the US to buy a C6 that ended up replacing his Z4M Coupe so searching for his posts might be helpful.

That's where the Corvettes fall down really. Super cheap and plasticy on the interior by reputation (not been in one myself).

Despite that, I can appreciate the dilemma. My head says no, but there's something about them that still makes me want one.

Since your located in Pennsylvania, wait until the end of August and visit Carlisle, PA.

https://www.visitcumberlandvalley.com/e ... -carlisle/

If you want a vette, you'll find almost every year ever made there and many of which will be for sale.
