Three Wheels On My Wagon
The camber adjustment bar has come apart. Thankful it happened when reversing slowly and not while I was driving faster or could have been very nasty.

I saw the first pic and just thought it was a slammed car. Then I admired your MV1s, not many on the forum. But no, I’ve never that happen before. As you say, lucky that didn’t happen at speed.

Well joking apart, that could have been horrendous! Looks like the threads have rusted away that much it's just pulled out. Never seen anything like that before on a Zed .

Might be time to check every part of the suspension as it looks a bit f***ed.

My son had an e85 and it got written off,he was going round a bend in the road at 30mph this corner I have driven many times and can be taken comfortably at 50 mph,he says he heard a loud bang from the rear and the car turned in to oncoming lane being inexperienced he over adjusted and hit the kerb hard.
The recovery company took the car and was then inspected and then written off.
We never did find out what caused the accident but does make you wonder with what has happened to yours.
No one was harmed and no other vehicles were involved.

Thought it was pretty unusual. Perhaps something to take a look at next time you’re in for an alignment, particularly if you’ve got an older zed. Might be a one off but have to wonder if more could be affected in time as despite the pic, the underside of the car is in decent nick overall and it’s been well cared for.
Needless to say both sides will be replaced!

Unusual to have just one corner Slammed. Could set a new trend.
Never seen that before on any car. Has it stripped the threads? Was it just adjusted too far out? Definitely time to get the alignment thoroughly checked and make sure none of the other corners have eroded threads or are at the limit of thread depth.

I haven't had it confirmed yet but can only assume the arm has corroded to the point it's pulled out. I'll be replacing both sides to be safe.buzyg wrote: ↑Mon Jun 21, 2021 9:35 am Unusual to have just one corner Slammed. Could set a new trend.

The car is lowered but has had adjustment done by a place with an excellent reputation so I'd imagine whatever the standard camber angle was, it was set to that. Should have a printout somewhere. I suppose the fact it's lowered may mean it was further out to achieve the same angle as a standard car or have I got that wrong?
Standard as far as I'm aware though it's my first zed so not seen under another to compare.

That's not a Z4 camber arm. Quite a few people swap with ones from the E46 M3 CSL which are adjustable. It looks like that is the case for your car. Whether they went for a genuine OEM part or a cheap autodoc knock off we'll probably never know.

This can happen with Elises, the forums suggested good practice was to waggle the bar using a spanner to check the ball joints hadn’t seized. If they had, that’s when the arms broke

That’s very interesting. I’d heard of plenty people adjusting the camber so assumed the standard one was adjustable but I guess not. Thank you.TheDan wrote: ↑Mon Jun 21, 2021 1:17 pm That's not a Z4 camber arm. Quite a few people swap with ones from the E46 M3 CSL which are adjustable. It looks like that is the case for your car. The standard one is adjustable (cam bolt) but you don't have as much adjustment and it's harder to adjust than the E46.
