After months of faffing about I finally fitted the hoop inserts into my E89 a couple of weeks back.
Then this morning, while trying to source another rattle in wifey's E85 that only she can hear , I looked more closely at the hoop inserts in hers.
Ok, so we've had it nigh on 16 months so it's taken a while, but I discovered that hers are mesh, but also have a thin layer of perspex. I assume the mesh therefore is simply to match the main wind deflector appearance.
Not been able to check any others so I'd like to know; is this standard or some aftermarket mod that's been done?

My standard E85 is the same.
Mesh + perspex hoop insert. Mesh main deflector.

Yep mine too. Must be that as standard. Funny, I've had mine a few years now & only noticed the perspex bit a few weeks ago whilst cleaning .

Ah well, seems they are a standard set up and that we're not very observant thenoldgitdave wrote: ↑Wed Jun 09, 2021 6:40 pmYep mine too. Must be that as standard. Funny, I've had mine a few years now & only noticed the perspex bit a few weeks ago whilst cleaning .
