Hello.z4 owners, I have just bought a e85 z4 3.0.se.
I love the car but it grounds out slightly over a hump in my drive ...is it possible to change the sports springs only (.keeping the stock sports dampers) for se springs to gain the 15cm height ?
Thanks

I'm not sure if sport/SE shocks are the same but lots of people have changed springs without issues, the ride height difference is supposed to be only 15mm / half"-inch (not 15cm )
Before going to the effort of swapping springs I'd check it will actually get you over the hump, maybe someone locally with an se will give it a careful go for you? Or can you put a riser/wedge in the dip?

Hi , thanks
The car just scrapes the sills on the hump that goes from council road on to the entrance to our close of 6 houses so can't alter the entrance or put wood down unfortunately.
I have been able to avoid the scrap by hitting the hump at an angle but this is not always possible depending where other cars are parked ....I just not want to open the bottom of the car up like a tin can !

Has your car already been lowered or have any of the springs broken?
Mine is on lowered springs and doesn't scrape speed humps, only time it does is those car park spike thingys.

Hi , I checked the rear springs today when having 4x Michelin pilot sport 4's fitted and they have 3 dots of paint so are standard se 3.0 setup with sports suspension.
BTW ...highly recommend the pilots
