Roof motor relocation

Post by Gregl » Tue May 11, 2021 8:23 pm

I’ve had my z4 about four years and fear the motor needs replacing and of course moving now as today it will not go.

I’m seeing someone called Ross (Bowser123) May be able to help. Does anyone know if that’s my best option as in based in Essex ?

Yes, Ross ("bowser134" on here) is the nearest to you in Hook, Hampshire.

Here's a link to his business site:- https://www.rbmhampshire.co.uk/

FWIW it will be well worth the trip!

Ross was sorting roof motors for years while he was still working at Sytner before he set up on his own in late 2018. A couple of Essex forum members go to him for servicing, which has to be a good recommendation.

He did an Inspection 2 and fitted new crank rod bearing shells on my MC last year and is doing an oil service on my 330i daily tomorrow!

So if your car needs any other work done it might be worth getting that done at the same time.

Roof motor relocation

Had my roof motor moved at RBM a few weeks ago. Totally hassle free service. They are 2 hours away from me. I was so impressed I decided to go back yesterday and get a service done by them too.

Definitely sounds the place to go then and May have to consider taking my other car also (I have just got a 328i GT).

Thanks for the help.

Booked in for a couple of weeks time. Then plan to put the car up for sale. Will certainly miss her but just don’t use it.

May seek some opinion on here for price as seems to be quite varied on line.

If you wanted it you missed out as Woodrow has just taken a deposit on it!

My 330i had an oil service there today, plus a replacement oil filter housing gasket and service was great - as always.

Here's a photo of my MC on one of its several visits.

By way of an update Ross is in the throes of moving about half a mile to bigger premises with an office and waiting room before the end of the month, so if you are travelling any distance you might want to wait.

Hi Greg, I’m currently in the market for a Z4 would be great to know what model it is that you’re selling? Not sure from your posts but I’m ideally after a nice 2.5 or 3.0 pre-facelift car.

All the best!
