I have a pre facelift e85 already wired for cruise but I don't really want to spend over £100 for the Z4 stalk.
I can get a stalk from a 3 or 5 series for under £20. I'm happy to make a bracket or chop it to make it fit under the cowling but I can't find the wiring diagrams to see if the wiring can be adapted.
Has anyone considered or done this mod? Is it even likely to work? All the switches perform the same tasks so I can't see why not.
Has anyone got the wiring diagrams maybe?

For the hours you’ll spend doing R&D you’ll be better spending the £100. IMO.
Keep your eyes on eBay and you should get lucky. They can be had for cheaper. I must have got one for £5 at a breaker. Obviously probably won’t ever be able to go back to one... but that’s another story.

As above, just buy the proper one. They pop up for around £80 used quite often.

My E87 1 Series and current E90 3 Series had/have the same sort of stalk that operates the same way, but I've no idea about the wiring.
A breaker may be you best bet to get one a bit cheaper - I've bought a couple of things from Quarry Motors and had no issues.

Thanks guys for all your suggestions, I've tried the online breakers (Quarry didn't have any) best I was quoted was £181!!!
Keep watching ebay and have trawled the 'breaking z4' ads but to no avail.
I will keep trying but in the meantime I've ordered a set of diagrams so Ill let you know if I have any success.
